Mariah Carey Looks Forward To "New Beginnings" After Split: Things are looking up for Mariah Carey. As the songstress stepped into 2024, she shared a picture of herself featuring her so-called “bad side” with the caption, “New Year, new beginnings.” The post comes amid the breakup with dancer Bryan Tanaka after seven years together. The split was announced the day after Christmas, noting that it was a “mutual” decision. Carey and Tanaka started working together in 2006 during the “Adventures of Mimi” tour. As for her “bad side,” the 54-year-old singer confessed back in 2016, during an episode of her reality TV show “Mariah’s World” that a photographer told her told her at 19 years old “This is your good side, only let people photograph you from your good side, ever” and it just kind of stuck with her.
