Monday we told you that controversy is already surrounding the planned Michael Jackson biopic. Well now it appears even the singer’s family might be trying to cash out while they still can. Sources say the Michael Jackson estate is in a deal to sell the pop legend’s music catalog in a blockbuster deal.
While musicians like Bruce Springsteen and The Doors are only a couple of the many musicians selling their catalogs these days, Jackson’s deal is particularly large. Insiders say the family is nearing a deal with Sony and an unnamed buyer to sell half of MJ’s interests for $800-$900 million. This would be the biggest music catalog sale to-date.
