The upcoming Michael Jackson musical has suffered a new setback. Producers of “MJ The Musical” announced that the show’s original lead, Ephraim Sykes, has exited the project to film a movie.
Luckily, they’ve already recast the part. Miles Frost is set to make his Broadway debut in the musical, which is scheduled to start previews December 6th at the Neil Simon Theatre, and opening on February 1st.
“We are extremely excited about Myles,” director and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon said. “All of his talents point towards a new rising star. I’m very much looking forward to working with him to shape the role of Michael Jackson for MJ.”
Producers also released a teaser of Frost showing off his Jackson moves.
