Tom Jones Is Not Happy "Delilah" Has Been Banned From Rugby Games: 83-year-old Welsh music icon Tom Jones is pretty ticked that “Delilah” is getting scrubbed for its allegedly violent lyrics. Welsh Rugby Union is one of the more recent institutions to 86 the song from its games due to lyrics some consider to promote domestic violence. The song, a hit in 1968, focuses on a man who bumps his girlfriend off after she cheats on him with another man, is still a favorite of Jones’. “You can’t stop us singing ‘Delilah,’” Jones defiantly shouted at a recent show. “They may stop the choir from singing it, but they haven’t stopped the crowd,” he continued, adding, “Keep on singing it – and I’ll keep on singing it too.” In the past, Jones has defended the song- saying it’s nothing more than a story about a man who “just loses it.”
