National Geographic’s upcoming series about Aretha Franklin finally has a premiere date. The series, “Genius: Aretha,” will debut March 21st.
The eight-part series stars Cynthia Erivo as the Queen of Soul, with Courtney B. Vance as Aretha’s father, and David Cross as music producer Jerry Wexler.
The series follows Aretha as she records her first album with Atlantic Records. Based on the trailer, it also looks into her childhood, personal life and the big moments of her career.
