New David Bowie Doc Coming To HBO Next Spring

A new David Bowie doc is coming to HBO next year. “Moonage Daydream,” directed by Brett Morgen, is the Bowie film to be officially sanctioned by the singer’s estate.
It features previously unreleased footage of Bowie, with the announcement noting that Morgen was given “unfiltered access to Bowie’s personal archives and … unearthed hundreds of hours of never-before seen 35mm and 16mm footage, and was able to assemble the performances from these original camera masters.”
The release notes, “all of the performances presented in the film will appear for the first time.”
So far an exact release date isn’t known but it’s expected to premiere on HBO and HBO Max in Spring of 2023.
