He may be gone, but iconic musician Prince is still conquering new frontiers in entertainment. For the first time, it’s been announced that the late legend’s infamous 80s pop/rock film “Purple Rain” is headed for Broadway.
Based on the movie script written by Albert Magnoli and William Blinn, Pulitzer Prize-finalist Branden Jacob-Jenkins is set to adapt it for the stage. His play “Appropriate” is running now on Broadway. The OG film, which included Prince hits “When Doves Cry” and “I Would Die 4 U,” won the Oscar for Best Original Score and grossed almost $100 million around the world. More details are expected to be announced soon.
