Ringo Starr is criticizing his own work. While he’s got a lot of music to choose from, when asked to pick the favorite drumming moments of his career, he had a hard time picking just one.

“I used to say ‘Rain’ because I felt ‘Rain’ – that was another character playing drums itself,” he tells Yahoo Entertainment, noting “that drove people mad.” He also described his drumming on “Let It Be” as “not bad,” and added, “‘Paperback Writer’ rocks.”

He did add that when the “Let It Be” reissue came out on the Atmos surround system he became more critical of his playing. He explains, “Paul [McCartney] and I were in this crowd of people listening, and I said, ‘I’m too busy on this record!’ I told him it was too busy,” adding, “You know, these are just thoughts that go through my head.”
