Earlier this month, the Rolling Stones released two 4K videos for “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” and now they’ve taken it up a notch. The band has released a 4K version of the promo film for their 1967 single “We Love You,” which is the first time the video has officially been made available online.
The video is loosely based on the 1895 libel trial of Oscar Wilde, with Mick Jagger playing the part of Wilde. The song features backing vocals from John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Why is the video just now being released? The producer of the BBC’s flagship music show “Top of the Pops” thought it was inappropriate, which led to it being banned by the network.
