The Black Crowes are ready to release their first new recordings in 12 years, although it isn’t exactly new music.
The band, made up of brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, will release the covers EP, “1972,” exclusively on Amazon Music on May 4th. It will feature covers of six songs released that year, which Chris says was when “rock & roll music represented this cosmic American music vibe.”
Songs on the album include the Temptations’ “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” the Rolling Stones’ “Rocks Off,” T-Rex’s “The Slider,” Rod Stewart’s “You Wear It Well,” Little Feat’s “Easy to Slip,” and David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream.”
