After decades in the music biz, The Proclaimers admit that even they’re surprised they’re still going strong. Craig and Charlie Reid formed the band back in 1983 and Craig confesses they’ve already exceeded their expectations for career success.
“We’ve had a much longer run at it than we thought we would, so now we are at 60 we just want to do the best that we can and do it for as long as we can.” Craig says, adding, “and to keep enjoying it.”
The group is currently touring and people haven’t tired of hearing their classic tunes. Charlie says they play hits including “500 Miles,” “Letter from America” and “Let’s Get Married” at every show along with new songs. “The fact that people still want to hear them 30 years later is great for us and I suppose for the audience it connects them with their own past as well,” he says.
