The Beach Boys have lost another member, this time from one of their “longtime touring” mainstays. Jeffrey Foskett passed away at 67 after a lengthy battle with anaplastic thyroid cancer.

“I’m so heartbroken that my dear friend Jeff Foskett has passed,” wrote Brian Wilson. “We couldn’t have done it without him. Jeff was one of the most talented guys I ever knew.” The later rocker grew up a fan of the band and was recruited by Mike Love in the late ‘70s. Foskett first played in Love’s Endless Summer Beach Band, then became a member of The Beach Boys in the early 1980s.

Except for a brief break in the ‘90s, the rocker stayed with the band until 2019... when he finally left due to throat surgery that affected his voice. He later told the band about his cancer diagnosis the year before and released his final solo albums (“Love Songs,” “Vintage Summer,” and “Voices”).
