Unauthorized Billy Joel Biopic In The Works

Billy Joel’s life may be coming to the big screen but it’s not by his hand.
Michael Jai White’s Jaigantic Studios has purchased the life rights to Joel’s first manager Irwin Mazur, who worked with him from 1965 to 1972, with plans to turn it into a biopic, titled “Piano Man." The film will follow Joel's early years, starting with being discovered by Mazur at 16. He stopped working with Joel the year before Billy’s breakout album “Piano Man.”
Adam Ripp is attached to write and direct the project. A rep for Joel says the singer is not involved with the film at all, and they also don’t have any rights to Billy’s music, name/likeness or life story.
