Bono is out promoting his upcoming memoir "Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story."
At the New Yorker Festival he revealed the inspiration behind the title.
He also shared what his bandmate Adam Clayton felt about the memoir, saying he was drawn "as a caricature" and that there wasn't enough about the music.
But Bono insists it's "not a traditional rock and roll memoir."
"Billboard" has just come out with their picks for the Top 100 Karaoke Songs Of All Time
They note that most of the songs on the list are “familiar, accessible, simple without being predictable, and reminiscent of a specific time and place without being hopelessly stuck there.”
Topping the list is Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like A Woman," with songs by Backstreet Boys, Gloria Gaynor, Queen and more making the Top 10.
"Every Breath You Take" came out in 1983 and was the biggest hit of the year - and of the Police's career
In 2022, the song is still achieving new heights - being recognized yesterday by YouTube as having become the latest member of YouTube's Billion Views Club
Impressive by any measure, the song still racks up 300K views a day - almost 40 years later
Hard to believe it's been twenty-five years, but October 7th marks the 25th Anniversary of Janet Jackson's "The Velvet Rope" - and she's giving us reason to celebrate
On that day, a new deluxe version of the album hits streaming services and it includes a boatload of remixes, b-sides and rarities
The album featured the #3 hit "I Get Lonely" and the #1 hit "Together Again" - as well the Top Ten Dance Club tracks "Got Til It's Gone" and "Go Deep"
